Denise (Hoffman) Lovett, age 67, of Newtown, passed away at Danbury Hospital on Saturday, November 22, 2014, while surrounded by her family. Denise was born on June 27, 1947, in Bridgeport, CT, to the late Edward and Jean (Gasso) Hoffman. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Fairfield in 1965 and has been a Newtown resident since 1989. Denise is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Harry Lovett, and their daughters Nora Knight of Sandy Hook and Sara Hill of Bethel. She is also survived by her sons-in-law David Knight and Jonathan Hill and her beloved grandson Jack Knight. A lifelong book lover, Denise owned and ran The Book Shop in Monroe for 15 years. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, and spending time with her family. She also taught a paper-cutting class at the Easton Senior Citizen Center for many years. Denise’s passing was very sudden, and she will be missed tremendously by her family and friends.
