Josephine M. Lucas, age 87, wife of Michael Lucas, Jr. of Sandy Hook passed away Wednesday February 11, 2015 at Maplewood of Danbury. She was a lifelong resident of Sandy Hook. Josephine was born May 4, 1927 a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Retz. Mrs. Lucas was employed at Fairfield Hills Hospital as a Housekeeper for many years until her retirement. This past January 22nd Mr. and Mrs. Lucas celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. She enjoyed reading and gardening. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lucas is survived by a son Michael Lucas, III of Stratford; a daughter Susan Petty and her husband Dennis of Sandy Hook; and two grandsons, John Petty of Roxbury and Robert Petty of Sandy Hook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown Saturday February 14th at 11:00am. Interment in St. Rose Cemetery will be in the spring.
