Robert J. Scolpino (Bob) passed away peacefully at his Southbury home on May 15th. He was born July 18, 1944 in Bethel CT to Joseph and Margaret (Eastberg) Scolpino. He was the beloved husband of Carol (Schweder) Scolpino whom he married October 2, 1966.
Bob graduated from Bethel High in 1963 and was a resident of Newtown for 40 years where he raised his family. He worked for many years in the car business before retiring. Bob loved spending time with family, landscaping his yard and vacationing at the beach.
He is loved and will be deeply missed by his friends and family. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his mother Margaret of Bethel; his brother Jon Scolpino and wife Joan of Charlestown,RI; his sister Jill Scolpino of Bethel; his daughters, Laura Meister and husband Bill of Hampton, CT, Pamela Sumple and husband Steve of Southbury and Susan Niles and husband Jason of Hatfield, MA and six grandchildren, Hannah, Madelyn, William, Cole, Devin, and Hailey.
Calling Hours are Monday May 18 from 4-7 at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday May 19 at 11:00am in St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown.
