Condolences

Condolence From: Tom Vetter
Condolence: When Stu was with the Norwalk Public Schools, I had the pleasure of working with him for several years. I was always impressed with his knowledge of so many things...finance, construction, but, most of all, people. And Stu always focused on the most important people he dealt with, the students. All he did was for the betterment of the school district, so the students would benefit. I'll miss his love of family (he always had an update), foods, sports and many other interests. My condolences to his entire family.

Condolence: My deepest sympathy for the Opdahl amily. Back in the late 70's and early 80's as a High School and College student he gave me the chance to work summers at the Bronxville School. He was the kindest and most generous man. I fondly remember when I bought my first car from him. it was this huge Buick Electra. when he asked me what I wanted to pay and not having too much money, I asked "would $500 be okay?" With no hesitatiom he said okay. Looking back I realized that basically he saw a kid getting his first car and it was more than happy to practically give it to me. he had such a big heart. It is a memory that has stayed with me since and always makes me smile and think of him Rest in peace Mr Opdahl

Condolence: Dorian- My condolences to the Opdahl family and God Bless Stu. In my early years at Bronxville, Stu was one of my main backers along with Bob Spenik, Lou Braun, John Zidk and Mickey Saltman. His suggestions, via his low key, non-threatening demeanor, were always welcome. His move to Long Island was a tremendous loss to me. personally. He was a kind, honest man with great integrity. Condolence: My deepest sympathy to Stuart's daughter and family. I knew Stuart from the Bronxville School where I taught when he was Assistant to the Superintendent. Stuart was a very kind, thoughtful man. When I was ill for a year and out on sick leave Stuart kept in touch with me to be sure I was doing well and to offer his help if needed. I always appreciated his compassion and understanding. He was missed when he left Bronxville. It is sad to hear of his passing.

Condolence: I remember Stu Opdahl very well. He was the assistant supt. and then supt. of the Bronxville Schools when I was a young teacher there. I taught Biology and he took a special interest in me and was very encouraging. He was also the most teacher-friendly of all the administrators that I served with in Bronxville. I am sure he will be missed greatly by his family. You and he are in my thoughts and prayers.

Condolence: Stu IOpdahl was a valued professional colleague and friend while working at the Bronxville School. Stu was the most knowledgeable and progressive school administrator that i have ever worked with in my 37 year tenure at the Bronxville School. His advise and council was sought out by both professional and support personnel alike. His approach to educational governance was guided by his humanity experience and an optimistic spirit in the pursuit of educational excellence. Stu was always proud of his family and kept us informed of their achievements. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
