Obituary for Anthony "Tony" Ambrogio

Anthony "Tony" Ambrogio, 66, of Sandy Hook, died unexpectedly November 2, 2015. He was born on September 20, 1949 in Port Chester, New York to the late Carmen and Ella (Carriero) Ambrogio. Tony was soulmate, husband, and partner in life for 42 years of Terri (Gorman) Ambrogio and proud father of Stephen Ambrogio, currently residing at St. John Fisher Seminary in Stamford, CT. Tony worked in the banking industry for 50 years, most recently at Connecticut Community Bank. He was a Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971. Mr. Ambrogio was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a longtime active member of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Newtown. Tony is also survived by one brother, John Ambrogio (Donna) of Greenwich and one sister, Denise Warzoha (Robert) also of Greenwich. His numerous nieces and nephews loved spending time with Uncle "Ton". Tony was a fan of the Yankees and Giants. Calling hours are from 4-7pm at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown on Thursday, November 5th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 6th at 11 am at St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown. Interment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.
