Condolence From: Art Summo
Condolence: Dear Samuels family, So sorry to hear about Eds passing. I remember going to visit him in the hospital after his transplant at B&W so long ago. Ed was a tough but fair leader of us all at Branson. It was great to see Ed last year when he visited Branson. I got to give him a hug. Sincerely, Art Summo

Condolence: I will truly miss Ed's big heart, positive spirit and helpful advice. These attributes can be seen even in his last days. We recently went to visit Ed in Boston and brought a friend of my son. Ed went into his mentor mode with my sons friend and was telling him how handsome he was and recommending that he play football. The boy was smiling. I thank Ed and Jeanne for leading me into a direction that included college. I'm thankful for the excitement in investing that Ed shared with my son, Chris. I enjoyed going on vacation with Ed even though we only got to spend one day in district one - Ed would get that joke. I sorry that we can't play another round of golf or go on the fishing trip that we talked about, but I am happy that when I think of you. I think of a person that had a life well lived. Good-bye my friend, mentor and brother-in-law. My heart goes out to my sister Jeanne and her family.

Condolence: Our hearts and prayers are with all of you. Praying for a peace that passes all understanding to wash over all of you, all of us, that grieve the loss of this great man. He touched my life in so many ways. Maybe he felt compassion for me because I was in Karen's graduating class and have such great memories of our friendship early on. His presence could change a room and I laugh a little because for me it was a feeling of protection and safety and for others that worked for him, I'm sure at times it was the opposite. He accomplished so much himself, I think he expected the best from others because anything less then that he couldn't comprehend. My fondest memory I will cherish, I was so young when I started working at Branson, but my first Branson Christmas party I knew I just had to have a dance with him, the first chance I had I took it, asked him and his smile said 1,000 words. I'm holding him tight as I did that night, with so much admiration and appreciation. He really could make you feel like you could accomplish anything. - Connie Devine & Chris Carlson "If you indeed behold the spirit of death, open your heart wide unto the body of life." - The prophet

Condolence: Ed has been a part of my life for almost all of my 59 years on this earth. I can remember the day Jean and Ed got married, I was only 7 years old. When Ed was attending college in Rhode Island, I can remember them taking weekend trips back to my mom and dads. I would wait by the front door for their car to pull up. I remember they were always moving as his career advanced. When he lived in Michigan and then in New Jersey, I would spend a good portion of the summer at their home. They always took me on trips, Kelloggs factory, Ford Factory, Canada, Liberty Bell, the list is endless. Ed taught me how to drive on one trip to Michigan. (Yes he had the patience of a saint) Ed was the most positive person I have ever met. He would give me those serious talks. Encourage me and he believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. I will miss him. Till we meet again.
