Obituary for Salvatore Anthony "Tootie" DeBenedetto

Salvatore A. “Tootie” DeBenedetto, 89, a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, passed away Feb. 4, 2016. He was the beloved husband of June (Felicella) DeBenedetto. He was the owner of Sweetheart Records and Tooties Garage. Tootie was also very heavily involved with Robert Anthony’s Hair Salon in Newtown which is owned by members of his family and where he was loved by all. He was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army and was a proud recipient of the Purple Heart. Tottie and June were inseparable shopping, flea marketing and going to the coffee shop, making every day blessed. In addition to his wife of 65 years, he was father to Diane and husband Bob; Salvatore and wife Loni; Sally and husband James. He was Grandfather to Bobby, Diane, Albert, Jimmy and June. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church Monday February 8th at 12:00noon. Interment with full Military Honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
