Eugenia T. Whitehead Obituary October 16, 1918 - February 28, 2017

Eugenia Theodora Zimski Whitehead, 98, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2017 at Madison House in Madison, CT. She was born in Bridgeport, October 16, 1918 a daughter to the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Strezeski) Zimski. Eugenia was predeceased by her husband, Frederick A. Whitehead Jr., in 1997.

Eugenia, formerly of Bridgeport, was a longtime resident of Sandy Hook and Redondo Beach, CA. She worked for many years at Dictaphone in Bridgeport and later at Read’s in Danbury.
Eugenia was fond of traveling, tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, baking delicious desserts and taking daily walks on the beach.

She is survived by her beloved son, Jonathan E. Whitehead and wife Cathy of Guilford, and two grandsons, Jonathan E. Whitehead Jr. (Kate) of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, and Jason F. Whitehead (Dylan) of Redondo Beach, CA.

Friends may call this Saturday, March 4th, at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St. Newtown from 8:30am - 10:00am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rose of Lima Church at 10:30am. Interment in St. Rose Cemetery, Sandy Hook will follow.
