Obituary for David Lawrence Johnson

David Lawrence  Johnson
After a pleasant evening with his family, David Lawrence Johnson of Newtown, died peacefully in his sleep during the morning of March 5, 2017. He was the son of Jack Raymond Johnson, and Isabelle Hecket Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marie Hall Johnson, and his children Brad Johnson and his wife Linda, Allan Johnson and his wife Susan, Steve Johnson and his wife Elizabeth, and Sandra Valente.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Natalie Thomas and her husband Lane, Ryan and his wife Nicole, Ian and Jessica Johnson, Henry, Zachary and Benjamin Johnson, Courtney Suszynski and Alexio Valente and great granddaughter Katelyn Thomas. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Amy Johnson.
He grew up in Norwalk, graduated from Norwalk High School and the University of Bridgeport.
He lived for 15 years in Georgetown, Connecticut before moving to Newtown and was very active in the Little League in both towns. He was very involved in the Wilton Pony Club and loved caring for his favorite horse Lively Lady. He loved his many trips down the Coastal Waterway as his friend’s First Mate.
He was a long-time member of MENSA and an avid student of history.
He worked for many years as an accountant and was retired from his position as Controller of the Larsen Fund.
