Anthony J. Viglione Jr.,76, of Newtown, beloved husband of Elizabeth “Betty” (Kean) Viglione, passed away on July 11 2017 at Danbury Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Tony was born Sept. 29 1940 in Bridgeport a son the late Anthony J. and Josephine (Ruggiero) Viglione. Besides his wife, Betty, he leaves behind a brother, Mathew (Carol) of Trumbull Ct. a sister Virginia of Venice Fla. and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Ken Hofford. Tony was a Navy Veteran, having served 6 years stateside in San Diego, CA where he also attended college. He was a longtime employee of DuPont in Newtown. Tony was an avid bowler, having been a member of the Tashua Senior bowling league. He was an antique dealer and loved gardening as well as a fine cigar. Funeral Services will be held Friday July 14 at 7:00 pm in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Interment will be private. Friends may call Friday from 3:00pm to 7:00pm prior to the service.
