PJ for Mayor

As an honorary member of the Horoszko family, I was blessed to spend time with PJ in his youth.  This child could enter a room, an amusement park, a hotel, a restaurant & before he left would know the "stories" of numerous strangers.  He worked a room as if the "mayor" of whatever make shift community he was in at the time. His empathy for strangers, his intelligence & ability to connect were way beyond a kid of 11 o 12.  I always thought "this kid will be a politician"!  In times like this, we could certainly use someone like PJ - someone who connects rather than divides.

I always looked forward to seeing him at our yearly trips to Cedar Point because he was such a charmer!  Even though I would not have seen him for a year, he bounced in with hugs and a good story.  I remember waiting in a long line at a roller coaster & wasn't paying immediate attention.  After about 15 min it dawned on me that PJ, about 10 at the time, had been talking to a 20-something couple for those last 15 min.  When I made eye contact w/them, I could see that they too saw what the rest of already knew - this kid was special; had it going on!

I didn't get to see PJ in his later life, but followed him thru Kathy & Mary.  He was living the life I thought he might - a life of creativity, of imagination, trying to connect in a city that never sleeps.....

While we will miss him here, PJ will be a bright spot to those above us.

Peter & family, I'm so sorry.  You all are in my thoughts,

Melissa
