Obituary for Anthony D'Ambrosio

Anthony D’Ambrosio, age 79, brother of Mary T. Vitarbo of Newtown died Saturday February 12, 2011 in Pope John Paul II Care and Rehabilitation Center, Danbury.
In addition to his sister, survivors include his children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews, including Ernest Vitarbo of Newtown and grand nieces and grand nephews.
He was born in New York City, January 22, 1932. Anthony was a Korean War Veteran and earned the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars and the United Nations Service Medal. Mr. D’Ambrosio was a longtime Machine Operator in the Embroidery Industry and was also a doorman for Private Residences in New York City.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church Wednesday February 16, 2011 at 10:00am. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, New York. Friends may call at the Honan funeral Home, 58 Main St. Newtown Tuesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
