Obituary for Anthony Joseph Lopreato Jr.
Anthony J. Lopreato, 92 of Sandy Hook died Saturday October 24, 2020 at New Milford Hospital. Mr. Lopreato was the husband of Dorothy (Perrone) Lopreato. Mr. and Mrs. Lopreato would have been married 64 years on October 27th. Anthony was born on August 2, 1928 in Mamaroneck, NY a son of the late Antonio and Luigia (Sganga) Lopreato. Before retirement, Anthony was employed as a Piping Designer in the Chemical Industry. A resident of Sandy Hook since 2002, he was a Communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church.
In addition to his wife survivors include a a son Anthony and his wife Ruth of Damariscotta, Maine ; a brother, Louis Lopreato and his wife Grace of Yorktown Heights, NY and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church Wednesday October 28th at 10:30am. Interment will be private. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown Tuesday October 27, 2020 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Rose of Lima church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, CT 06470.
