Obituary for Clement Richard "Clem" Kopnicky
Clement Richard Kopnicky of Newtown passed away peacefully on August 16, 2019 in Ridgefield.
Mr Kopnicky was born on April 3, 1937 in Stratford, CT to parents Joseph Andrew Kopnicky and Elizabeth Mary Dugas.
He attended Stratford High School, graduating in 1955, and then entered into military service with the United States Marine Corps, February 1956 to February 1958.
Mr Kopnicky married Joan Marilyn Duda on February 27, 1960. He is survived by his wife, his son Lyle Kopnicky, his sister Margaret Cheever, and sister-in-law Shirley Kopnicky.
Mr Kopnicky worked as a mason, at first for his brother, Robert Kopnicky, and later built his own business.
He was an avid bowler and golfer.
Friends and family will remember him for his hospitality, generosity, eagerness to help others, and sense of humor.
Friends may call Friday, August 23 from 5 – 8 pm at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Funeral services are Saturday, August 24 at 10 am at Honan Funeral Home, followed by interment with Military Honors at Newtown Village Cemetery.
