Dennis R. Fitzsimmons, 74, of Southbury, died in his home on February 16, 2016. He was raised in Franklin, N.J. by his parents James and Lillian. Dennis is survived by his wife, Debbie, his sister Janice Fitzsimmons of Hamburg, NJ, his daughter Liz Fitzsimmons, her husband Ned Statchen and their children Bridget and Nicholas of Unionville, his daughter Denise Fitzsimmons of Brookfield, his step-daughter Amy Sayler, her husband Brad and their daughters Annalise and Violet of North Potomac, MD and his step-son Joshua Jutton, his wife Beth and their daughters Madison and Lorelei of Fuqua-Varina, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother James Fitzsimmons of Vernon, NJ.
Dennis wore many hats during his lifetime and was well known as a teacher, architect and entrepreneur and was completing his law studies. He and his wife Debbie were the owners of MisFitz in Southbury. He spent much of his free time with his beloved dog Buddy and his chickens. Dennis loved spending time with his family being "Pooh Bah", watching his grandchildren play basketball, telling tall tales and creating capers. He was an avid UCONN fan. Dennis devoted much of his time to his son Timothy, for whom he had unconditional love. He wrote his wife Debbie a love letter every day as the two of them were kindred spirits.
