Diana Caroline Mayer, 87, of Southbury, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2019. Born in Brooklyn NY to Philip and Florence (Hall) Shivell, Diana was a homemaker, dental assistant, and accomplished swimmer. Predeceased by her sister Florence DeEsso, she is survived her brother Philip Shivell, two sons, William C. (Ann) Harding of Pound Ridge NY and Dr. Bradford J. (Margaret McMorrow) Harding of Cornwall; grandchildren Christopher (Rebecca) Harding of North Salem NY and Emily (Harding) and Michael Leers of Canaan; great grandchildren Eleanor and Katherine Harding and Samuel Leers; and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St, Newtown on Thursday, May 23 from 4-7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, 15 Pepper Street, Monroe CT on Friday May 24 at 10 am followed by a private family only burial. In lieu of flowers, donations to Regional Hospice and Palliative Care, 30 Milestone Road, Danbury CT 06810 will be warmly appreciated.
