Obituary for Diego Fernando Jimenez
Diego Fernando Jimenez, of Newtown age 48, passed suddenly on the morning of September 14th, 2019. Diego was born February 11, 1971 in Bogotá Colombia, grew up in Greenwich, CT and graduated from Greenwich High School class of 1989. He was a soccer aficionado and broke several high school records. He attended Quinnipiac University. Diego and his family have been residents of Newtown since 2004. He was the owner of Phoenix Limousine Service, based in Newtown, CT.
He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Jimenez, his daughters Isabella,19, and Gabriella, 15, as well as his mother Marleny Jimenez and brother Jorge Jimenez. He was the soon to be god father to his future nephew Jackson Jimenez as well as the god father to Eric Myer and Grace Kelly Jimenez. He is also survived by 5 step-sisters, 1 step-brother, many loving brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Jorge Jimenez.
He was a handsome, caring, loving and exemplary husband, father, brother and son. He lived life to its fullest, always bringing joy to all those who came into contact with him. Diego always brought a light of love that shined through and brought a smile to all. We could always count on his humility, quickness to forgive and love for all. He taught us that nothing is impossible, that everything can be overcome in life. He will be loved and cherished in all our hearts, today, tomorrow and for all the days to come. All the words in life could not describe what we feel today and the emptiness in our hearts.
Friends may come to call on the family at the Honan Funeral Home, Newtown from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday September 18th, 2019.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 19th, 2019 at the St Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Newtown, CT. A reception will follow in Holy Innocents Hall on the St. Rose of Lima Campus.
