Obituary for Elizabeth Clark (Kennedy)

Elizabeth Clark of Sandy Hook died on Thursday, January 10th 2019 at Bridgeport Hospital after a short illness.
She was born on the 12th July 1952 to Tommy and Helen Kennedy in Bonnybridge, Scotland, the fourth of seven children. She is survived by her sisters Catherine and Anne-Marie, her brothers Thomas, Michael and John, her husband of 45 years Michael and their sons Martyn and Nicholas, plus many nieces and nephews. Her eldest sister Helen died three years ago.
Elizabeth graduated from Notre Dame College in Glasgow and spent her early years teaching in various primary schools in Scotland, all the while running a loving home for her husband and sons. The family moved from Scotland to Belgium and Canada before finally settling in the United States.
Her natural beauty was enhanced by humility and a quiet loving disposition. People who met Elizabeth understood that. She was a loving person who would befriend and care for both old and young, seeking no reward other than love returned for the love she gave them. Her warmth and caring were shared by many, particularly the Keeney family of Virgil, New York, the Sughrue family of Newtown and her friend Sonja Liljengren.
She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at Honan Funeral Home, Newtown Connecticut on Friday, 18th January 2019 at 1:00pm. Afterwards all are welcome to the Sughrue home at 31 Ashford Lane, Newtown CT 06470
