Obituary for Elzbieta Maria "Ella" Jurgielewicz

Elzbieta “Ella” Augustyn Jurgielewicz, 51, of Monroe, CT, made the world a smaller place when she left us on Thursday, October 21, 2021. Sickness may have consumed her body, but never her spirit or zest for life. Ella, a loving mother and friend, known by all as fiercely optimistic, ambitious, and generous beyond measure, fought her illness with every ounce of strength she had. Her children, Jack and Zoe, were her reason for being.
Ella was born September 9, 1970, in Nowa Sarzyna, Poland. She came to America in 1991 but never left her Polish heritage behind. She was a lover of music, art, theatre, traveling and appreciated the beauty in all things. Ella was passionate about her family, friends and most especially her two beloved children. She was a loving mother, devoted daughter, dear sister, treasured aunt, and a loyal friend.
Ella will be missed by many, but most especially her two children, Jack and Zoe; parents Teresa and Andrzej Augustyn of Stamford, CT; beloved sister and best friend, Irena Augustyn-Kogut and her husband Jozef; nephew Patryk Kogut; and many extended family and friends here and in Poland. She is survived by her former husband, Jan Jurgielewicz of Stratford. Ella was pre-deceased by her beloved nephew, Eryk Kogut and her loving Babcia, Antonina Kuras.
Ella was the owner and operator of The UPS Store in Newtown, CT. She was also a former teacher at The Fred Astaire Studio having put her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance and Choreography to good use, but her favorite job was being a Mom to her two beautiful children, who she was so very proud of. Ella’s kind heartedness led to her enormous generosity toward family, friends, and anyone in need. She was a supporter of many charitable causes and was always available to lend a helping hand. Ella had an adventurous spirit and was able to share that with her children. They made so many beautiful and unforgettable memories together.
Ella will be remembered by all who loved her as a bright light with a great sense of wonder. She leaves behind a legacy of love and beauty and kindness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Holy Name of Jesus Church, 325 Washington Boulevard in Stamford on Friday, October 29, 2021, at 5:00 PM.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 30th at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, CT. The family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Flowers are a beautiful gesture, but contributions for the welfare of the children (https://gofund.me/b6aa4330) would be most appreciated.
