Frederic Albert Collins, 87, of Newtown CT passed away on December 13,2020. He was the widow of Arlene E Collins. Born in New Milford, CT, son of Albert Collins and Eva Cieklinski, raised in New Preston, CT. He is survived by his two brothers, Garth Collins and Paul Collins and wife Kaye. He is predeceased by his two sisters Verne Leavenworth and Faye Mitchell. Wth an enormous heart he raised his 3 sons, 2 daughters, 2 grand-daughters, and 2 step children, Fred Collins Jr & wife Brandy, Eric Collins & wife Kathy, Jenny Stickle & husband Darwin, Richard Collins, Lisa Johnson, Tina Keeler & husband Robert, Jessica Collins, Lori Johnson & husband Aaron and Jerry Laughlin. In addition, he will be greatly missed by his numerous grandchildren and loved ones, Janet Goodbou, Nick Collins, Ashley Richmond, Cody and Bianca Bennet, Michael and Steven Keeler, Faith Stickle and Zachary and Cody Johnson. As well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He proudly served in the US Navy for over 12 years. He worked at New Milford Volkswagen with his sister Verne and his brother Garth before becoming a boiler tender at WCSU. He had a passion for woodworking and tinkering in his shed. He was known by "Daddy" to many who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all. Calling Hours will be Monday December 28, 2020 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Interment will be in Newtown Village Cemetery.
