Geraldine (Griffin) McNulty, aged 88 of Newtown, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. McNulty for sixty years.
Geraldine was born in the Bronx on November 9, 1931 to the late Cornelius and Beatrice Griffin. She graduated from Cathedral High School in New York City. After graduating high school, Gerry worked for New York Life Insurance Company for several years prior to marriage. In 1956, Gerry married the love of her life, John F. McNulty. Together, they raised four children in White Plains, NY. In addition to their children, Gerry and John shared their love with many loyal dogs. She was a very active member of the Holy Name of Jesus Parish and the Holy Rosary Society in Valhalla, NY.
Geraldine and her husband, John retired to Newtown, CT to their beloved family home and was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Parish.
Geraldine loved time with her family, maintaining her home and gardens, shopping, refinishing furniture and keeping up with the world news. During each summer she could be found cruising the Long Island Sound on the family boat. She also loved going on family vacations to Rhode Island and Maine where many fond memories were made.
She leaves three of her four children: Mary Ann McNulty of Ridgefield, CT; John F. McNulty Jr. (Kelly) of Barrington, IL; and Susan LoPiccolo (Frank) of Newtown, CT. She is predeceased by her daughter, Elizabeth Briscoe. Geraldine also leaves her eleven grandchildren: Maureen Correa, John Miksad, Claire Miksad, Caroline McNulty, Katie McNulty, John McNulty, III, Anne D’Ambrisi, Mary Kate LoPiccolo, Emma Briscoe, Patrick Briscoe, Thomas Briscoe and two great-grandchildren: Jack D’Ambrisi and Oliver Correa.
