Hans Peter Fuchs
Hans Peter Fuchs of Newtown passed away peacefully on March 30, 2021 at the age of 84 with his loving family by his side. He was born on June 17, 1936 in Stuttgart Germany, the son of Anton and Anni Fuchs. He was predeceased by his wife, Dagmar (Hansen) Fuchs.
Hans came to the United States in 1959 at the age of 23 and was soon drafted the following year into the US Army where he proudly served for 2 years. He then lived in Stamford, CT for many years before moving to Newtown. He was a Tool & Die Maker with Steward Stamping for almost 50 years until his retirement in 2007. He enjoyed gardening and sharing stories about history and discussing politics. He was a fan of old airplanes and enjoyed watching them in action at the airshows.
Hans leaves his 2 daughters, Renate (Fuchs) Clarke and her husband Lawrence. Susanne Fuchs and her partner, Joseph Colapinto. He will also be dearly missed by his 6 grandsons. Nicholas Clarke, Daniel Clarke, Eric Clarke, Jakob Colapinto, Samuel Colapinto, Matthew Colapinto and his great grandson, Jackson Clarke.
He is survived by his 2 sisters, Elisabeth Muller and Helga Rieken of Germany and was predeceased by his two brothers, Walter and Gerhard Fuchs. He will also be missed by his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Mildred Hansen of Dunwoody GA and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private and there are no calling hours. Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown is serving the family.
