John T. “JT” Gill, Jr passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2017.
Born in Danbury on August 23, 2017, he was the youngest son of the late John T. Sr. and Louise (Swan) Gill.
He attended Newtown Schools and was a US Marine, serving at Camp Pendleton in California. John was a carpenter and worked as a construction supervisor, building high end homes in the Westbrook, CT area for the past 15 years.
He was most happy camping with sons in upstate New York or tinkering with his tools, especially rebuilding John Deere lawn mowers and garden tractors. An avid NASCAR fan, he also enjoyed his ‘65 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide and went to the Laconia Motorcycle Rally many times.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his brother, Jay and wife Renee Gill of Sandy Hook, his sister Judy and husband Henry Mastrianno of Chelsea, Maine; his sons John T Gill, III of Florida, SSgt Dustin Gill and his fiancée Cynthia Todd of Sandy Hook and Sean Gill of Sandy Hook and many nieces, nephews and cousins and countless friends and co-workers. He was predeceased by his parents and wife, Sandra Bellavita Gill.
