Obituary for John Charles Nagel

John C. Nagel, 75 of Sandy Hook died unexpectedly January 28th at his home. He was the husband of Joyce (Mahlo) Nagel. Mr. Nagel was born in Bridgeport on April 28, 1939 son of the late Robert B. and Rose (Riccio) Nagel. John grew up in Bridgeport and was a graduate of Bullard Havens Technical High School. John was the owner of Nagel Electric for 42 years. He was a longtime member of St. Jude Parish in Monroe and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. From 1956 to 1962, John served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Henry Abbott Tech Electrical Craft Committee. He enjoyed trains and truck pulling and was a member of the Southern New England and Massachusetts Truck Pullers Associations. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Robert Nagel of Sandy Hook and Mark Nagel and his wife Cheri and their children, Mark J. Nagel and Ashley R. Nagel all of Easton; a daughter, Heidi Nagel of Bridgeport; a sister, Joan M. Lebron and her husband Jose of Sandy Hook and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Jude Church, Monroe at 12:30pm Wednesday February 4th. Entombment will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
