John Paul Tucci, 68, of Sandy Hook, CT passed away unexpectedly on May 12, 2020. John was born in New York City to Paul and Berta Tucci on February 29, 1952. He graduated from Riverdale Country School in The Bronx, NY and went on to study at Washington University in Saint Louis where he earned his MBA. John worked in Sales and Marketing for over 40 years at a range of global tech companies, most recently with Canon, where he retired in 2018.

John loved spending time with family and friends. He was the light and laugh of the room and never hesitated to tell you a good joke. John especially loved capturing these moments with photography. He was always behind the camera solidifying each special occasion with a candid pic or professionally posed shot. In his new retirement, John gained a new love in the game of Bridge. He always bragged about his new skill and achievement of newly earned Master Points. 206 to be exact!!

John is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Lynn; his furbaby Samson; his sister Brenda Tucci of Delray Beach, FL; his nephew Max Ascuitto and wife Yvonne of Saratoga Springs, NY; his sister-in-law Lori Hoyt and husband Robert of Norwalk, CT; his niece Lisa Roos of Stratford, CT; his nephews Garvin L. Roos III and wife Maryclare of Weston, CT; Robert Hoyt and wife Beth of Norwalk, CT; Christopher Hoyt and wife Jeanne of Monroe, CT; Jonathan Hoyt of Norwalk, CT; his great nephews and niece Anthony, Brandon, Robbie, Bruce, George, Christopher, Charlie, Crixus, and Christina. John is predeceased by his parents and sister, Andrea Tucci.

A private funeral service will be held on Friday May 15th. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a public memorial celebration in John’s honor will be held at a future date. The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.

John Tucci will always be warmly remembered by us for many good reasons. John had many rare qualities but above all, he was a genuinely kind soul and a supportive colleague who never hesitated to share knowledge and levity. We feel privileged for having known John and grateful for the good times we shared. Our sincere sentiments to Lynn and the family during this difficult time.

Dear Lynn,
As we grieve the loss of John, Van and I send our condolences to you and your family. A classmate to Van, I only had the pleasure of knowing John a short time but his joyful and welcoming manner made me feel we had been friends for much longer. We will miss the good times we all had together but will hold close the memory of a special team with a devotion to each other that was clear. May that love sustain you and bring you peace during this most difficult time.
With our deepest sympathy,
Van Tsai and Merry Muller
