Dr. Kathleen Denise Moody, 62, of Newtown, died 11 January 2019, following a protracted illness. She was born 25 October 1956 in Allentown, PA, the only child of Burton E. and Helen Moody.

Her daughters, Lora Kristen Streett and Gretchen Ilse Streett and her loving husband, Dr. Walter Streett, all of Newtown, survive her and hold her in their prayers.

Dr. Moody attended The Pennsylvania State University in University Park, PA, graduating with degrees in Animal Science and Biology, continued on to graduate with a veterinary medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA and completed residency training in Laboratory Animal and Comparative Medicine at Pennsylvania State University Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA.

She interned at Detwiler Veterinary Clinic, Reading, PA, then Clinical Professor, Section of Comparative Medicine, Yale University School of Medicine from 1986 through 2001. She concurrently and subsequently served as consultant and/or interim clinician for Bayer Corporation, West Haven; Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Ridgefield and 15 other biomedical research organizations.

Kathleen made a career change around 2005, began part-time studies for the Chaplaincy through Hartford Seminary, Hartford, CT, graduating with the degree of Master of Arts in Transformative Leadership and Spirituality in May 2018. She enjoyed reading, cross stitch, Prayer Shawl Ministry, flower arranging, cooking and watching the myriads of birds congregating at the home bird feeder. A compassionate individual and a good listener, Kathleen enriched the lives of many convalescents and hospice residents throughout the region as she pursued her clinical practice exercises.

Reception will follow in the church Community Room. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders, P.O. Kathleen, my heart is broken to have lost you my dear wonderful friend. I will always remember our long talks and how we would laugh at our dinners with each other. My life was made so much better because I had you as my friend for 27 years. I’ll miss you always❤️

We are so sorry for your loss. When this happens in our family we need more than human strength. God and his Son can provide what we need. Please review these scriptures : John 5:28-29 “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.” Revelation 21:4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
