Obituary for Michael Alfred Alberico Sr.
Michael Alberico Sr of Newtown, CT passed away peacefully on October 10, 2022. He was 95 years old.
Michael was born in New Rochelle, NY on May 28, 1927 to Cosmo and Rose (Perone) Alberico. Michael had one sister Marie Garufi and one brother Cosmo.
Michael was married 72 years to his recently (January 2022) deceased wife Theresa. He has three children Barbara of St. Augustine, FL, Michael and his wife Maria of New Rochelle, NY, Cosmo and his wife Nancy of Newtown, CT, eight grandchildren, Michael, Alex, Stephen, Michael III (wife Veronica), Michele Hnatiw (husband George), Matthew, Lisa Montellese (husband Justin), and Nicole Genova (husband Christopher) and seven great grandchildren Ethan, Anthony, Alyssa, Mia, Kyle, Camden and Eric.
Michael was a WWII veteran serving in the United States Army and a master electrician where he owned and ran an electrical contracting business for 4 decades. In his younger years he was very active in his local community participating in many local civic organizations. He served as President of the New Rochelle Lions club back in the early 70’s. Michael was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Michael will be remembered for his loving personality, dedication to his family and genuine smile.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 17, from 3:00 pm to 7 pm at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am on Tuesday October 18 at Saint Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown.

The family would Iike to give special thanks to Michael’s very devoted full time caregiver Charity Mphela. The family is also very appreciative for the care provided by the Newtown Emergency Services Ambulance Volunteers.
