Obituary for Michael "Mickey" Lucas III
• Michael Lucas III of Shelton passed away at his home June 3rd, 2021 with his loving family at his side at the age of 73. He was born on April 21 1948 in Danbury to Michael and Josephine Lucas of Newtown.
Michael is survived by his partner Erik Bernard; his sister Susan Petty and her husband Dennis of Newtown; his nephews John Petty and his wife Jenna of New Milford and Robert Petty and his wife Stacey of Newtown, as well as his three Great Nephews.
Michael attended Newtown Schools and Graduated from Henry Abbott Tech in 1965. He Joined the Navy after graduation and was stationed on the USS Beatty, USS Gyatt, and the USS Joseph P. Kennedy. Michael was discharged in 1971. He was employed by Danbury Hospital as a stationary Engineer prior to being employed by the State of Connecticut at Fairfield Hills. He had many positions with the State prior to his retirement as the director of Maintenance in 1990.
Michael was a Member of the First United Church of Christ Milford, CT.
He was a member of the Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire Department in his younger years. He enjoyed volunteering for the soup kitchen in Milford Ct. Michael also loved Photography and was a member of area Camera Clubs.
A service will be held at the First United Church of Christ Congregational 34 West Main St. Milford, CT 06460 on Friday June 11, 2021 at 10 AM at the Memorial Garden on the Church grounds then a service will follow in the Church. Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown is serving the family.
