Obituary for Michael Frank Rotolo

Michael Frank Rotolo, 90, of Southbury, Connecticut passed away Friday, August 31, 2018 with family at his bedside. Michael was born in the Bronx, N.Y. in 1927 and lived there through his childhood until he married Elaine A. Brassel in 1955. A few years after having their first two children Robert and Richard, they purchased a home and moved to Thornwood, N.Y. where they had their third child William. Michael worked for the N.Y. Daily News for 25 years as a photoengraver, and later worked for American Can in their reprographics department. Michael was a devoted husband and father and was married to Elaine for 55 years before she passed in September 2010. He had many hobbies which included playing and watching sports with his three boys, working on projects around the house, hunting and fishing, and he was also an avid reader. He especially enjoyed spending time with family on vacations or at informal get togethers with family and friends.
Michael is survived by his three sons: Robert Rotolo and his wife Dorothy of Ridgefield, Ct.; Richard Rotolo and his wife Maria of Katonah, N.Y.; and William Rotolo and his wife Patty of New Hill, N.C. ; as well as six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held for Michael on Saturday, September 8th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Honan Funeral Home in Newtown, Ct. The family requests in lieu of flowers contributions to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of your choice in his name.
