Obituary for Nicholas Alfred "Nick" Piperis

Nicholas Piperis, 86, of Sandy Hook, passed away with his wife and four children by his side on January 2nd. Nicholas was married to his wife Rosalie for over 62 years and was the proud father of Maria Kaminski, and her husband, Terry, of Yorktown, NY, Joseph Piperis of Rye Brook, NY, Nick Piperis of Yorktown, NY, and Patricia Gommo, and her husband, David, of Sandy Hook. Nicholas was the adoring grandfather of his eleven grandchildren; Katie, Michael, Cristine, Andrew, Nicolas, Alex, Stephen, Gregory, Stephanie, Alyssa, Ryan, and his great grandson, Brayden. He is also survived by his sister, Marie Metzler and brother, Joseph Piperis. Nicholas was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, NY on June 4, 1927 to Pasquale and Maria Piperis. He lived in White Plains, NY when he and Rosalie got married in 1952, and later moved to Sandy Hook where he has resided for the past 16 years. Nick was a Navy veteran having served during WWII. He was employed by American Bank Note as a lithographer for over 40 years. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, cultivating his garden, and following the New York Yankees. Calling hours to honor Nicholas' life will be held on Monday, January 6th, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday in St. Rose of Lima Church in Newtown at 10:30AM.
