Pauline Mauro, affectionately known .as Susie, passed away on Dec. 31, 2017. She died peacefully at home with her family in Newtown. She was 77.

Susie was a strong woman born into a family of strong women. Her mother Viola was the oldest of 4 girls. Sue also had an older sister Bernardine. All the

woman were formidable, capable, and funny.

. She started working during high school to help her family. Eventually, working as an

executive secretary in a NYC real estate firm, and then as a bookkeeper . Sue was known for her wicked sense of humor and her devotion to her family.

She is survived by her much loved husband, Bob. Her two children Robert of Austin TX. Her daughter Kristine Klimm of Newtown and Mark Klimm her son

in law.

Susie suffered a stroke in 1996 but never lost her sense of humor or her fighting spirit.. The more children and dogs around the better.

Sue had touched many lives. She was a unique and unforgettable woman who will be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sandy HooK
