Obituary for Raymond J. "Ray" DeLorme

Raymond J. DeLorme, 84 of Newtown passed away September 13, 2021 in Danbury Hospital. Mr. DeLorme was the husband of Patricia (Russell) DeLorme. Ray was born in Bridgeport May 10, 1937 a son of Joseph and Catherine (Gilson) DeLorme. He was a graduate of Central High School. An antiques dealer and auctioneer, Ray was Door Manager at Park City Auction in Bridgeport and operated Botsford Antiques in Newtown and Monroe. He was a fixture at area flea markets and antique shows and attended the Brimfield, MA Antique Show every year. In his earlier years, Ray was a member of the Bridgeport Police Auxiliary serving at the Barnum Festival at Seaside Park. A resident of Newtown since 1979, he was a life member of Botsford Fire and Rescue. Ray was an animal lover, especially his dog “Pumpkin” who was his constant companion.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by several nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Carl Russell of Trumbull. Predeceased by two brothers, Al and Fred DeLorme and a sister Lucille Gaspar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Rd., Newtown Friday Sept. 17, 2021 at 10:30am. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There are no calling hours.
