Obituary for Richard Bruce "Dick, Butch, Stick, Pops" Johnston

Richard Bruce Johnston ("Dick", "Butch", "Stick" and "Pops") of Newtown entered eternal sleep June 28, 2019. He was born in Bridgeport April 16, 1939 a son of the late
Arthur And Mary (DeRousche) Johnston of Easton. In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his former wife Lynn (Mattison) Johnston

Richard retired from Heise Industries as a production manager. After his retirement he redeveloped his love for farming, raising cows and horses and having amazing success with vegetable crops. He had a generous heart, always sharing what he produced, and donated to charities he felt connected with.

Some of Richard's favorite times were with family and friends sitting outside on a cool evening, or at his favorite restaurant Lorenzo's or at one of the local coffee shops to share a few laughs and some old stories, he had tons of stories. You could also find him on a golf course with friends and his son. Richard never minded a trip the Las Vegas, he went several times with his son and son's friends just as one of the boys.
In his quiet time, he enjoyed reading, playing cards or watching an Old Western.

Richard will be missed by many. He is survived by his sons, Timothy Johnston and his wife Alison Noroian and Richard Johnston; his sister Lois Tomlin; his brother Jack Johnston and wife Justine his brother Arthur Johnston and his wife Cathy; many nieces and nephews and his grand fur baby Anoush as well as endless friends, all of which we wish to thank.

Family and friends may at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown Tuesday July 9 from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm. Private burial will take place at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, as for mentioned, Richard donated to charities he felt connected to and in his honor please make a donation to St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital it was his favorite. We can feel him smiling right now.
