Obituary for Ryan Drew Fetchick

Ryan Drew Fetchick
Ryan Fetchick, 19, of Sandy Hook, died unexpectedly at his home on the morning of April 2nd due to a tragic accident while working on his truck. Ryan graduated from Newtown High School in 2016, worked at Route 25 Power Sports and had plans to go to United Technical Institute to become a diesel mechanic.
A full-throttle personality, Ryan was always eager to lend a helping hand- whether it be driving his friends to driver’s education classes, helping a buddy fix their vehicle or cracking everyone up with a well-timed fart joke.
Ryan was on wheels from a young age. He progressed from rigging up plywood ramps for his bicycle to racing motocross. While his spelling skills were questionable at best, his ability to take anything apart and put it back together better than the original was unparalleled.
Ryan is survived by his mother, Eileen Fetchick, father, Drew Fetchick, sister Kristen Fetchick, dog, Moto, and numerous friends and extended family who miss him dearly. In addition, Ryan leaves behind extensive motocross trophies, an impressive collection of dirty socks and a reputation for being an extraordinary young man.
Services for Ryan will be held on Sunday, April 9th at 2:00pm at Newtown Congregational Church- 14 West Street, Newtown. All are welcome and encouraged to bring trucks, dirt bikes and a happy heart. The Fetchicks would like to extend a special thanks to the Ericksons for being a second family to Ryan. Donations can be made to the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps (www.newtown-ambulance.org) or Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue (www.sandyhookfire.com).
