Salvatore C. DeCesare, 89 of Newtown passed away unexpectedly Tuesday August 2nd. Mr. DeCesare was the husband of the late Katherine (Buhan) DeCesare. He was born in Bridgeport on February 26, 1927 a son of the late Charles and Louisa (Maribella) DeCesare. Sal grew up and was educated in Bridgport. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He was employed as an Auto Parts Salesman in the greater Bridgeport area until his retirement. A resident of Newtown since the 1960’s, Sal was a founding member of Christ the King Church. He is survived by a son Kurt DeCesare and his wife Pat of Newtown; 2 daughters, Kathy DeCesare Kean Cragin and her husband Brian of Newtown and Linda DeCesare of Torrington; and 9 nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Glen DeCesare. A graveside service will be held at the Newtown Village Cemetery Friday August 5th at 11:00am. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
