Obituary for Stephen Vito Del Vento Jr.
Stephen V. Del Vento Jr., age 58, of Newtown, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 24, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on June 2, 1962, he was the son of the late Stephen V. Del Vento, Sr. and Arlene (Nemeth) Del Vento.
In addition to his mother in Trumbull, he is survived by his son, Anthony Del Vento of Newtown as well as his sister, Christine Ann Rapillo and husband Brian of Trumbull along with his brother, John M. Del Vento and wife Suzanne of Trumbull. He also leaves behind a niece, Stephanie Del Vento and nephews, Nicholas and Tyler Rapillo, and John Del Vento. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He grew up in Trumbull where he graduated from Bullard Haven Technical School studying carpentry and followed a career in commercial truck driving. He was a “jack of all trades” and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He was a past officer and senior member of The Long Hill Fire Department Inc. in Trumbull, CT. After starting his family in 1990 he moved to Newtown where he would spend the remainder of his life.
