Obituary for Tod Walter Wassmer

Obituary: Tod Walter Thomas Wassmer, 62, Newtown CT

Tod Walter Thomas Wassmer, a wonderful and devout father to his children, a faithful and loving husband, a sports enthusiast, a food connoisseur, a world-traveler, and a resident of Newtown, joined our creator peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, April 5, 2020.

As an MBA grad at Baruch College in New York, his career was mostly spent as a supply chain director for a global manufacturing company. He was retired.

He was a gentle soul born in Brooklyn, New York to Doris Ferri and Joseph Wassmer. He was predeceased by his loving sister, Kristine Charles. He is survived by his loving wife, Ludmila; his beautiful daughters, Danielle Christine, Kate Delilah, and Sofia Isabella; his brother-in-law, Robert Charles; his cousins Pamela and Penny Schaick.

He also left behind his extended family in the Philippines, his father-in-law, Buenaventura; his mother-in-law, Juana; his sisters-in-law, Delilah, Lorena, Rowena, Agnes, Ivy; his brothers-in-law, Nonnato, George, Greg, Bernadito, Manuel; his loving nieces, Kieza Lahjen, Kaezna Leahyel, Karol Rose Anne; his loving nephews, Joseph Edward, Bernard, Benedict Lawrence, Kobe Clyde, Akke Ford, Von Drake, Kyle Luis, Shawn Kyler.

He was the ‘cool guy’ to every other ‘cool guy’; a tireless charmer and an instigator to those he loves; a witty conversationalist with a great sense of humor to everyone he meets; and a simple, humble, generous human being with a big heart for the lowly. Being the consummate happy camper that he was, he believed that the best way to travel is to ‘travel light’, and travel light he did. He will be sorely and lovingly missed, especially by his spouse and his children who call him ‘super dad.’

A private viewing and Roman Catholic service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2020. Attendance is limited to immediate family members only. Burial ceremonies will take place at a better future time. We ask our family and friends to light candles and join us in prayer in celebration of his life.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to iffgd.org to support further research on diabetic-induced gastroparesis. Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. To leave an online condolence visit www.honanfh.com
