Obituary for Vincent Lawrence Beechel

Vincent L. Beechel, Sr. age 95 of Newtown entered into eternal rest Saturday May 5, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He is reunited with his beloved wife Frances and his daughter, Patricia. Vincent is survived by his loving children, Vincent Beechel, Jr. and his wife Beverly of Queens, NY and Donna DeJoseph and her husband John of Brookfield; a sister, Florence. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Dawn and her husband Donald, Michael and his wife Susan, Cristina and her husband John, Shane and Austin and his wife Fenna; 6 great Grandchildren, Mark, Dawson, Jake, Marisa, Oliver, Jaiden; several nieces and nephews. Vincent was born in Maspeth, Queens, NY. He raised his family in Richmond Hill, NY where he worked as an Electrician and in Refrigeration. He was very talented in his field and could “fix anything”. He enjoyed bowling, dancing, drawing and photography. Vincent and his wife retired to Florida and lived there for 20 years. They moved to Newtown 17 years ago to be closer to their family. They were active parishioners at St. Rose of Lima Church and enjoyed the activities at their residence at Nunnawauk Meadows. Vincent is as World War II decorated War Veteran serving in the US Coast Guard. Even as his memory was fading and he could not remember what he had for lunch, Vincent always remembered stories from when he was in the service. He is loved and deeply missed by his family and friends. Calling hours will be Monday May 7 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St. Newtown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday May 8 at 10:30am in St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown. Interment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.
