Obituary for William Elliot "Bill" Webster Sr.

William Elliot Webster, Sr. 83, of Bethel passed away at Danbury Hospital. He was a resident of Bethel for over 50 years. Mr. Webster was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts on June 7, 1937 to Violet (Blaisdell) Webster and Charles D. Webster. Bill moved to Greenwich, Connecticut with his family when he was an adolescent. He entered the United States Marine Corps in 1959 and was discharged in 1962. While in the Marine Corps, Mr. Webster earned his GED. After his return from the Marines Mr. Webster married his wife Karen Ferber in 1964 and a few years later the Websters moved to Bethel to raise their family. Upon moving to Bethel, Mr. Webster was a manager at a Danbury Taxi company.

After managing the taxi company in Danbury, he was employed as head chauffeur for Xerox in Stamford, Connecticut for over 30 years. He was happiest when with his family, Bill also enjoyed vintage cars as well as car races.

Bill was predeceased by his wife Karen Ferber, a sister Lois Cann, his nephew Michael A. Capone and his niece Debbie Capone Quinn.

He is survived by his son William “Billy”Elliot Webster Jr., of Bethel and his daughter Sharon Mareno (Frank) and a grandson Frank Daniel Mareno of Bethel. Mr. Webster is also survived by his sister Diana Dickinson of Portland, Oregon and his nephew Jon Dickinson (Sandi) and his niece Joanne Dickinson (Phil).
