An Angel's Legacy

The passing of Catherine has left vast sorrow and pain within our hearts. God has called upon his little angel to come home. Her smile has touched our distant home in a very profound way. My daughter is an eighth grade teacher who has devoted her life to children. She was very upset by this tragedy, but proud to be in a profession surrounded by caring and dedicated individuals, like the fallen heroes that taught at Catherine’s school. For myself, Catherine reminded me of an angelic little girl that I coached on my daughter’s softball team many years ago. These memories and emotions I have been feeling over the past few days have been immense, turning my life around. This was my gift from Catherine. A legacy that will be remembered forever by the people she has touched. I wanted to pass along this poem that now reminds me of Catherine… "A Peek into Heaven" (by Callie Sanders Thornton) Just one little peek into heaven, Is all I'm asking for today. I just want to know how she's doing, And heaven seems so far away. Is she playing on the clouds with angels? Is she laughing and running today? Does she miss me? I guess only she knows. Oh why does heaven seem so far away? If you just let me look for a moment, To catch a glimpse of her sweet smiling face, I promise I won't try to take her, I know, she's in a better place. Just one little peek into heaven, Is all I'm asking for today. I just want to know how she's doing, And heaven seems so far away... God Bless Catherine and family!
