Lorraine Patricia Casey (Dinan)
Lorraine Dinan Casey, 91, of Sandy Hook, beloved mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on November 15, 2014 at Danbury Hospital surrounded by her family following a brief illness.
Born on August 4, 1923 in Bridgeport to David and Harriet (Murphy) Dinan, Lorraine grew up in Stratford where she graduated from Stratford High School in 1943. She was predeceased by her two sisters Adeline Elliott and Harriett Barnes.
In 1945, Lorraine married her one and only love, Warren T. Casey who predeceased her. They made their home in Sandy Hook where she lived for nearly 70 years. She enjoyed her work as a legal secretary for Attorneys John Holian and Timothy Holian for 43 years. She was an active and faithful parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church in Newtown.
Lorraine‘s constant love and dedication touched countless lives. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Patricia Franklin and her husband Bruce of Modena, NY and Kathleen Kean and her husband Kevin, of Gaylordsville, CT. She was lovingly known as “Gram“ to her grandchildren, Wendy Franklin, Jeffrey Franklin and his wife Allison, Christopher Franklin, Kevin Kean and his wife Kim, and Thomas Kean and his wife Erika. Fondly called “Mimi” by her great-grandchildren, she was well-loved by Anastasia Kean, McKenzie Kean, Brady Kean, Kellen Kean, Olivia Kean, and Colin Franklin as well as her nephew Ryan Halstead. She was excitedly awaiting the arrival of her seventh great-grandchild, “Baby Franklin” due in January. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and good friends whom she treasured.
