Obituary for Franklin Edward "Frank" Dillon

Franklin Edward "Frank"  Dillon
Franklin E. Dillon, 88, of Sandy Hook passed away September 12, 2015. He was born May 30, 1927 in Maywood, IN the son of Ford H. and Mildred Dillon. Frank served his country in both World War II and the Korean War. He met his wife, Ernestine, while stationed in Germany. Married for 67 years, she was his soulmate and a source of comfort during his final illness. Frank was a heavy press operator at Chrysler Corporation in Indianapolis, IN for 35 years. After retiring, he kept busy working in Kroger and The Big Y supermarkets.
He is survived by his wife, Ernestine, his 3 children and their spouses: Robert and Maria Dillon of Satellite Beach, FL; Barbara and Richard Bloom of Redding, CT; and M. Catherine Gootee of Greenfield, IN. In addition, Frank is survived by 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown Tuesday, September 15th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, CT on Wednesday, September 16th at 10:30 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.
