Beatrice B. Piskura, age 88, of Prospect, Conn. previously a longtime resident of the Hawleyville section of Newtown died Sunday November 22 in St. Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury. Mrs. Piskura was the wife of the late Michael J. Piskura. She was born in Danbury on April 29, 1927 a daughter of the late Howard and Marjorie (Scofield) Banks. Mrs. Piskura grew up in Bethel and was a graduate of Bethel High School. Following her marriage, she lived in Newtown until 2011, when she moved to live with her daughter in Prospect. Beatrice was a longtime employee of the W. N. DeSherbinin Company of Hawleyville until her retirement. She was a member of the Prospect Senior Center and previously was a member of the Newtown Senior Center and was also a member of VFW Post 935 Auxiliary in Bethel.
Mrs. Piskura is survived by 2 daughters, Marlene Morneault and her husband Andrew of Denver, North Carolina and Kathleen Midolo and her husband Carmine of Prospect; a sister Lois Hopkins of Bethel; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
