Condolence: Very, very sorry to hear about your father / husband. I will never forget the look on his face the day I let him take my Jeep 4 wheeling out in the woods. He had a blast.

Condolence: My sincere condolences to the entire Mooney family. Jim and I were CSP classmates. Our careers went in different directions, as often happens, resulting in seeing each other infrequently. Jim was a fine man and respected trooper and I was honored to know him. Rest in peace, Jim

Condolence: Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mooney family for their loss. Always the professional, his humor, thoughtfulness and friendship will be missed, but not forgotten.

Condolence: Having worked at Troop A for so many years, and living in Southbury for even longer, I had so many wonderful encounters with Capt. Mooney that I cannot remember them all. He was not only a fine state trooper, but one of the finest individuals I met during my career. He is someone who I will always have the utmost respect for.

Condolence: As Bob Tolomeo said, Captain Jim Mooney really was one of the good guys. A sincere and honorable man. Captain Mooney was was the best C.O. I served under, no one ever came close to the man that was Captain Mooney. He cared deeply for the men and women under his command, it was always family first then the job. The lives and careers he touched and made better is incalculable. I would never have been so presumptions as to call him Jim, but, if I did, I bet he would have kinda liked it. So, just this once, I say, rest well Jim.......you are missed. We have lost a very good man.

Condolence: My sincere condolences to the family of Jim, my Classmate and friend for life. Jim and I served our State of CT and finished out the long ride to retirement. Living in AZ for the past 26 years, I never forgot Jim and all our good memories on the CSP and our time in the Academy. He had the personality you would never forget and he never forgot you.
