Mrs. McCormick worked as an executive secretary for a Dutch import company and, in 1944, married John J. McCormick, also of New Rochelle. They raised their six children in Glen Rock, N.J.

After her husband’s death, she moved to Greenwich in 1985, where she lived for 10 years before moving to Walnut Tree Village in Sandy Hook. In December 2011, she moved to Lockwood Lodge in Newtown.

She is survived by her six children: James McCormick of Madison, N.J., Lauretta McCormick of Greenwich, Celeste McGraw and her husband Thomas McGraw of Andover, Mass., John McCormick and his wife Karen of North Haledon, N.J., Robert McCormick and his wife Mary of Oak Hill, Va., and Sheila Culligan and her husband, Dr. Neil Culligan of Associated Neurologist in Danbury, who reside in Newtown. She has 13 loving grandchildren and many nieces and nephews throughout the country.

A private funeral mass will be held January 25th, celebrated by her brother-in-law, Monsignor Robert F. McCormick, at the Catholic Chapel in the Convent of St. Birgitta in Darien.
