Beloved Mother and Grandmother

Audrey Bauer, 83, of Southbury, CT , died April 5, at Danbury Hospital. She was born December 14, 1927 in Los Angeles, CA.
She moved to New York, NY as a young adult to pursue a career in modeling. She worked with many designers but was best known in the industry for traveling and working exclusively with an up and coming designer from Paris at the time, who is well known today, Christian Dior. She married her beloved William Bauer and lived in Manhattan. Then they moved to Manhasset NY, where they raised their family. After William’s passing in 2002, she moved to Southbury, CT to be closer to family.
She is survived by sons; William Bauer, Jr. of Northport, NY, and Jim Bauer with his wife Karen, of Newtown, CT, and her six grandchildren; Billy III., Lilly, and Mimi of Northport, NY, and Lauren, Thomas and Scotty, of Newtown , CT.
Audrey lived her life with grace, enthusiasm, and kindness. She adored her children and grandchildren and took great pride in their accomplishments. She attended as many football and lacrosse games as she could, and attended her granddaughter’s ballet recitals regularly. She loved to cook and entertained often. Some will never forget the amazing homemade sauerkraut that was served at the Snack Shack at Hawley Field in Newtown, during football season.
She will be dearly missed by her family and all those that loved her.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 10, at 10:45, at Flushing Cemetery, Flushing, NY. The Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St. Newtown, is assisting the family.
