Obituary for Barbara Marie Wolf (Perretti)

Barbara Marie Wolf (Perretti)
Barbara Marie Wolf, 56, of Newtown passed away peacefully after a courageous battle against Pancreatic Cancer on May 30, 2015, surrounded by her family and beloved dog, Buster. Barbara was born on March 10, 1959 to her parents Theresa and Isidore Perretti. She grew up in the Bronx, NY and graduated from St. Catherine’s Academy in 1977. Barbara moved to Newtown with her husband and children in 1994 and quickly became an active member of the local community. In her younger years, Barbara loved playing softball in a women’s league, and was a lifetime supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. She was an active parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and worked at Newtown Middle School for the last 14 years. Barbara adored her family and friends, and was the first to organize gatherings for birthdays, holidays, and simply for the sake of getting everyone together for food and laughter.

She was an avid NY Yankees fan and enjoyed traveling and vacationing with her husband, children and extended family. Her personality was filled with a vivacious, call-it-as-you-see-it enthusiasm for life that touched each and every person that was fortunate enough to come to know her.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 32 years, Edward F. Wolf, Sr. of Newtown; her children Edward F. Wolf, Jr. and wife Elizabeth Ihidoy-Wolf of San Francisco, CA, Christina Wolf, and Nicholas Wolf both of Newtown; her father Isidore Perretti and stepmother Helen Perretti of Mt. Kisco, NY; sister Deborah Perretti-Schemmel of Mt. Kisco, NY; brother Stephen Perretti and wife Lisa of Bronx, NY and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. Barbara was predeceased by her mother Theresa Santagata-Perretti in 1986.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday June 5, 2015 at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown CT 06470. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday June 6, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown. In lieu of flowers, Barbara requested that donations be made in her name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. www.stjude.org To leave an online condolence visit www.honanfh.com
