Obituary for Charles Lewis "Charley" Miner

Charles Lewis "Charley"  Miner
Charles Lewis “Charley” Miner, 62 of Newtown, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 31 2014. Charley was born on June 24, 1952 in Newark, New Jersey to John and Virginia Miner. Following his education he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Minot AFB as a missile specialist, where he met and married Carol Mehlhoff. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he lived in North Dakota and Texas working as a carpenter. He moved back to Newtown in 1990 where he worked for Pitney Bowes for 18 years. Charley was an avid New Orleans Saints fan. He loved the outdoors and spent time during the summer with family and friends at the pool. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a real prankster.
Charley is survived by his ex-wife Carol, son Troy (Leah) Miner, daughter Wanda Miner and grand daughter Addie Miner all of Sioux Falls, SD. He is also survived by a brother Jeffrey Miner, two sisters Susan (Doug) Body and Kathleen (Doug) Ruffles all of Newtown, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Charley was predeceased by his parents and brother John Miner.

Calling hours are Wednesday January 7 from 3:00-6:30 pm at Honan Funeral Home 58 Main St. Newtown. A prayer service will follow.
