Charles (Tom) Valente “Mr. Music”, 64 of Sandy Hook passed away peacefully on July 27th at Regional Hospice and Home Care Center of Western Connecticut in Danbury. Born November, 17th 1950 to Charles and Helen Valente in Peekskill, NY. He graduated cum laude from Pace University, Pleasantville, NY with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. He served in the United States Navy from 1970-1975 and was a proud Vietnam Veteran.
Tom was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who never put himself first. It was family first every time. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles J. Valente Jr. and his beloved daughter, Sabrina Valente. He is survived by his mother Helen Valente, his loving wife Barbara Valente, his daughter Cherish Dachenhausen, her husband Jerry Dachenhausen Jr., and their children Logan and Chance, his son Evan Valente, and his brother John Valente and wife Josephine.
A Visitation will be held Friday, July 31st from 5pm to 8pm at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30pm on Saturday, August 1st in St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.
