Obituary for Daniel Robert "Dan" Bandura

Daniel Robert "Dan"  Bandura
Daniel “Dan” Robert Bandura of Sandy Hook, Connecticut passed away on July 6, 2015 at the age of 70. He was predeceased by his parents John and Helen Bandura, as well as his brother, John Bandura. Dan is survived by his beloved wife of forty-seven years, Joan; his three children, Geoffrey, of Sandy Hook, CT, Justin, of Bethel, CT, and Kristen, of Stamford, CT; his daughter-in-law, Anne Bandura and his grandson, Hunter; his brother, Joseph Bandura, of Southampton, NJ; his brothers-in-law, Morris Binaco, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Thomas Binaco, of Browns Mills, NJ, William Binaco, of Browns Mills, NJ, and Christopher Binaco, of Rocky Hill, CT; his sisters-in-law, Barbara Binaco, of Vacaville, CA, and Patricia Bandura, of Wall Township, NJ, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Dan was born in Luzerne, Pennsylvania on May 25, 1945. He received a B.S.M.E. in Mechanical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology (Newark College of Engineering) and a Masters Degree in Finance from Seton Hall University. Dan worked for United Technologies and Northrop Grumman for over forty years.

Dan was a loving husband, father and grandfather who dedicated his time to his wife, children, and grandson. He was known for his easy-going nature, vibrant personality, and his ability to make people laugh.

During his lifetime, Dan involved himself in many social activities, including mentoring engineering students, organizing the Bethel Jaycees’ annual haunted hayride event, and coaching baseball.

He was an avid golfer who played for the Northrop Grumman Golf League, and a devout Mets and Jets fan. Dan was beloved for his kind heart and will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 10, at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church in Newtown. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are in care of the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. To leave an online condolence visit www.honanfh.com
